A message from David McFarlane, President & CEO, Normerica Authentic Timber Frame Homes.
Welcome to ‘Blog, Post & Beam’; the brand new blog of Normerica Timber Frame homes! We wanted to share with you what inspired us to start a blog (and what inspires us everyday).
We believe that the idea of that perfect home is a dream that lives in the hearts of many of us. In a world that is increasingly stressful and ever changing, the need for a refuge and the sense of permanence and security that comes from a home custom built for you, grows stronger everyday.
All of us, at some point in our lives, have stepped into such a home and experienced a feeling of ease and well-being. A sense of harmony and integrity that seems designed right into the fabric of the structure. It may be generations old, or if new, looks as though it will last forever.
The Strength & Enduring Beauty of Wood
We think something special happens when that home is built of wood. And we think there’s something special about living in a home built of wood.
It may be the strength and timelessness that comes from rugged timber frames shaped & fitted to make soaring ceilings.
It may be the warmth and beauty of posts & beams that are crafted to make rustic great rooms with picture windows that look out onto natural surroundings.
At Normerica, we’ve been creating timber frame homes with that sort of grace, strength and enduring beauty since 1979; custom homes that express the personal taste, the ideals, and the heart of each homeowner.
About Blog, Post & Beam
We want this blog to celebrate those types of homes, those type of homeowners and the craftsmen who make those dream homes come true.
So if you’ve ever dreamed of building such a home, if you’ve stayed up into the ‘wee hours’ to sketch it out or, if you’re one of the lucky ones already living in your dream, our goal is to share one thing you didn’t know about building a timber frame home in EACH blog post. Here’s what you can expect to see on our blog:
-Gorgeous new custom home & cottage plans and designs as they become available
-Tips on how to go about building such a home including construction costs
-How those homes are built & decorated by their owners
-Environmental friendliness of timber frame homes
-Some of the beautiful natural surroundings where they’re built
-The occasional special offer or promotion
And, of course, any questions you might have about building a timber frame home in general and Normerica timber frame custom homes in particular.
