As part of this initiative, a portion of the proceeds from every Normerica project will be donated to Forests Canada to support restoration efforts nationwide and contribute to their ambitious 2025 goal of planting more than three million trees. This partnership represents a natural evolution of Normerica's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable building practices. As a company that specializes in timber frame construction, Normerica understands the critical importance of forest conservation and the need to give back to the ecosystems that provide the renewable resources at the heart of their business. "Supporting Forests Canada is a perfect alignment with our company values and our responsibility as a predominantly wood-based builder," Normerica President Chris McFarlane says. "Our clients choose timber frame construction not just for its beauty and durability, but also because they want to build sustainably. By partnering with Forests Canada, we're ensuring that every home we build contributes to the restoration and growth of Canada's forests for future generations." For every Normerica timber package purchased, the company will make a donation to Forests Canada, ensuring that Normerica clients become direct participants in national forest restoration and recovery efforts, and creating a meaningful connection between their home-building journey and their environmental impact. The partnership builds on Normerica's existing commitment to sustainable building practices. The company's prefabrication process is designed to minimize waste both in manufacturing and on construction sites, creating cleaner and quieter job sites while reducing the overall environmental impact of each project. “We all rely on healthy, resilient forests – in fact, there are very few ways our lives, homes and communities aren’t connected to our natural landscapes and the many benefits they provide,” Forests Canada CEO Jess Kaknevicius says. “Normerica’s support of Forests Canada’s work is a testament to their commitment to growing diverse forests, healthy communities, and sustainable economies with lasting impacts far beyond today.” ![These connected forested landscapes are thriving on a Forests Canada planting project site near Ottawa, Ontario. Forests play a crucial role in combating climate change, cleaning the air we breathe, filtering the water we drink, and providing habitat for countless species. They also provide significant economic and social benefits, supporting communities and industries across Canada while offering cultural significance to Indigenous peoples and recreational opportunities to all Canadians. This partnership makes it simple for Normerica clients to participate in meaningful environmental action. With each timber frame project, clients will know that their investment in sustainable construction is also contributing to the restoration and growth of Canada's forests, creating a legacy that extends far beyond their individual home. --- ### **About Forests Canada** Forests Canada is a non-profit charity working to conserve, restore, and grow Canada’s forests to sustain life and communities.
